Pellet grill newbie here. Bought in to all the Weber SmokeFire hype. Optimistically looking forward to starting this pellet grill journey!

Good luck. Mine's still in the box as I've seen way to many negative videos on this thing. The grease fire ones are a little disturbing. Waiting to hear what Weber is telling people that are having issues.

I decided to go for it. Some people haven't had any problems. Maybe I will get a good one!😉
I did too. So far no major issues (knock on wood) though I did go out and stir my pellets around every hour or so on an 8 hour cook and watched the temp on the app more than I probably would have. Though since I’m new to pellet cookers too I probably would have still checked the app and hopper regularly at least until I’ve got a few cooks in. Both cooks I’ve done were very tasty. I’m sure Weber will provide fix for whatever comes up and continue to add functionality to the app.

Yes, I will

I.will watch mine like a hawk as well. I have a pellet stove for heat, so it's sort of the same principle. I think if my pellets ran out, I would try to manually light some pellets instead of waiting for a 15 minute shut down cycle.

It sucks that it sounds like you had a problem with the pellets. My EX4 is still in the box, while I fight with myself on whether to return it or risk it.

Yes, there are some long pellets mixed in with the shorter pellets in my bag of Weber pellets. I think that is part of the feed problems as well as that wire guard. I also went back and forth about the decision to open the box or sending it back. I am sure Weber will come up with tweaks and solutions to address all the different problems.
