EX4
Hi guys,

I have an EX4 and I've hand nothing but problem with it from day 1. I'm on the latest firmware and I've had the replacement auger from Weber. The main issue is I can get to temperature but it just won't hold. Last 2 cooks I'm aiming for 225 which I can get too but after 20 minutes or so the temperature just drops right off. I've taken the covers off and can see pellets are feeding but the glow plug isn't hot. I've tried 3 different glow plugs and it all the same. I've also tried Weber and 3rd party pellets, still the same results.

Any ideas?

I had this same issue. It turned out to be the controller.
Contact customer service and request a new controller. The controller is very simple to replace.

The glow plug doesn’t stay on it’s used to ignite the pellets and shuts off. There was one update that vaguely mentioned glow plug for reigniting, but still wouldn’t be on all the time.
Agree with Bluesmoke, sounds like controller issue, I’d definitely contact Weber.

I’ve had the same issues and Weber finally sent me a new controller board and things seem to be working better. This is after replacing every electrical component on it before. We’ll see how this goes

I would also make sure you have checked that the burn pot is assembled correctly and that remove the finger guard in the hopper.
These can also cause issues like what you are experiencing but as others have said, it sounds like the controller.
I would also suggest sticking with one brand of pellet while you are having problems (use Weber since that is what the unit is designed to use) to remove that variable.
