How long for the firmware update to complete?

I'm a new EX6 owner. I'm in the process of updating the firmware for the first time. The firmware installed in the smoker is 4042, so I'm several updates behind. When I initiated the firmware update process, I was presented with the "Restarting..." update screen (see attached snapshot). It's now 40 minutes and I'm stuck on the same screen.

How long does it normally take for the firmware update to complete? I'm going to shut it down and restart the update process again, but an idea of how long it should take to complete would be very helpful.

I’ve only done it once, when it was new, but seems it only took 15-20 tops

I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max, and I can watch the progression in the connect app. It usually takes about 10+ Minutes for mine to update….I wait for it to show 100 percent, then it will close out of the loading screen. Then I’ll shut off and wait about 1 minute and turn it on. Another way to check is just check the current version before update, then once updated, recheck to see if different. Or check Weber sight or online to see most recent version.
P. S. I couldn’t care less what version it is along as my SmokeFire works.

I don’t see the snapshot but shouldn’t take 40 minutes on the restarting screen.

When I set up my EX4 last Sunday, it continually tried to update even after it said it was completed. It didn't really update until I connected to wifi and tried again. YMMV.
