Summer is ending, autumn/winter is coming. Well this does not mean that I will stop using my SmokeFire. But it is the time of the year I always do a deep clean of my grills. I like doing this when the weather is still fine or is fine for the first time again (Spring).

Actuele I was looking at my own gril and also on the pictures in this forum and I see a lot off grills that have been used extensively. The thing I'm curious about is how do you do a deep/thorough clean. What do you use to clean what material. How to get the outside nice and shine again, the inside etc etc....

share it now so we can still enjoy the Indian Summer outdoors :) , I'm curious lets share......

I use an all purpose cleaner like simple green, fantastic or such.

Much of the exterior is porcelain enamel and cleans quite nicely.

I find Simple Green to be great. Really like the foaming kind.

My thoughts are, I vacuum out every 3-4 or so cooks. And I don’t worry to much about interior other than that. I also wipe down lightly the grates and heat deflectors/flavor bars. I use wired pans to cook almost everything. But the outside I would like to clean better. Here in Phoenix, Az, it’s so dusty they if I don’t leave it covered it gets a layer of dust on it daily. Thing is I used it so much it’s kind of a pain to keep it covered.

a mild soap, water, Brillo pads and a whole lot of elbow grease. My kettle is the one I’m lazy with. My SF I tend to thoroughly clean after ever 5 cooks or so. Gotta keep her pretty after dropping 1200 on her.
