After many years of gas grilling, I finally broke down and ordered my first pellet grill. My last three grills were Weber and a plethora of other brands before that.... My first Weber, a Q100 was such an eyeopener that I swore I'd never buy another brand again.
I got all excited when Weber brought out the SmokeFire as I'd looked at so many different pellet grills and they were both expensive and seemed limited in their capabilities. Then the pooh poohing of the original SmokeFires started and I got a bit gun shy. Now Version 2 is out and I couldn't take it anymore. It'll be here on Thursday. I should mention that "here" is Winnipeg, MB Canada.
My best grilled and BBQed food has been over camp fires, I've never been truly happy with gas grilled food so I'm hoping that will change.
One thing I found peculiar is that there isn't a section dedicated to pellets themselves on this forum, or at least I don't see it. I would have thought there would be a fair amount of discussion on the various woods and makers of pellets?!?! I realise there is a fair amount of regionality with pellets, shipping them thousands of miles will add a serious amount of shipping costs to them, but still......
