SmokeFire EX4
I own a WSM, Genesis and Kettle and decided today to order the 2nd Gen EX4. I've had my eye on the SmokeFIre since it came out but saw many negative reviews. It sounds like most of the kinks have been worked out since launch so I took advantage of their $200 off promo today. It should arrive on Monday morning.

Scanning through this forum, I see an overwhelming amount of information. Being new to this grill, I'm hoping that some of you can share some tips on assembly, getting started, etc. I see posts about removing the finger guard and using a drip tray. I'd like to hear about all the great things you've learned while using your SmokeFire so I an avoid common pitfalls and get off to a successful start. Thanks in advance for your help!

Welcome! This is a great forum to ask questions as I have found everyone to be extremely accommodating.

I have a 7 month old ex4 with the updated one-piece auger assembly and the finger guard removed. I use it mostly for low and slow cooking as well as mid-temperature range cooking (300-400F) and after almost 80 cooks it delivers great food to the table.

I won the EX4 from the Virtual Weber Bulletin Board, so been doing some reading. Headed to Lowe’s today to pick up some pellets and a cover on sale
Hahah so you’re the lucky one! Nice score! TVWBB is one of the best forums I’ve come across, I’ve been a member for a long time!! 8-10 years I can’t remember.
This forum has some great potential as well, we’ve got some dedicated members who will help you solve your issues. Some great cooks who will make you try harder and all around a bunch of good people!
