Assembled my Smokefire EX4 ( second generation) and did the prescribed burn in (40 minutes at 400) . Switched it off and let it partially cool before attempting re-ignition. Grill did not light and stayed at the same 85 degrees for at least 15 minutes. Igniter was working, but auger was not. Checked for a pellet bridge and other pellet problems and everything seemed ok. Powered it down and fired up the Genesis for supper. Any ideas? This is brand new grill!

You said the auger was not working.
It was not turning?

I’m not sure this is worth your effort if you know what I mean. 11 comments all about how bad the Smokefire is spread out over two years. Uh huh.

This is my second Smokefire, courtesy Weber. First one had so many problems they decided to replace it. I have not got off to a good start with this one!

You said you switched it off? So you are supposed to let it shut down on its own. Like the shut down process. Maybe you did….?

Probably, auger should be turning….glow plug glowing….maybe try to reset it. Don’t remember how it’s done but I think the manual/web site will have instructions….or just go get a treager….lol

Yes, I followed the instructions to power it down. However, after about 15 minutes, my iPhone said the shut down was complete, but the dashboard said it was still shutting down. I waited a few minutes more then switched off the power. Was that my mistake?

Probably, although Ive done similar. I just waited several minutes before powering back on. Maybe try uninstalling and reinstalling updates? That worked for me before

I think the auger stops and starts during start up. I remember the fan pulses, but I've not spent a lot of time watching the auger. The plink of pellets falling wasn't continuous, I think. Call Weber if you think the auger wasn't working.

This is true but it happens often enough that you would be able to see if the auger turning.
