Curious what material you recommend to extend the pipe. Common ducting would be galvanized but at these temps zinc toxicity is def a concern...Accessory.
Add a piece of pipe to the bottom of the pizza attachment that sits just above or flush with the top of the burn pot so you loose less heat and then it's a mod.
I did this recently on an EX6, it does work, but you need to run the grill higher (don't follow CMG instructions) given the gap. The gap is a few inches, and if you attempt a mod, you need to ensure pellets still enter the fire pot. Need to figure out the right setting. I had set 350° and after 30-40 mins the stone was above 600°. I didn't allow the stone to heat up as long as I should so my results weren't as good as prior runs w/ just a stone @ 600°... For $150 it's not a bad deal, Here's the oven: https://thebbqhq.com/products/gmg-pizza-oven
Looking forward to more input on this one, thanks. Keep it up looks killer.I did this recently on an EX6, it does work, but you need to run the grill higher (don't follow CMG instructions) given the gap. Should fit EX4 just fine. Might be more efficient than EX6 due to less extra space outside the pizza unit.So I'd assume it would fit on the EX4 as well on the 24 x18" cooking area, compared to the 36 x 18* cooking area of the EX6 as well?

My pizza oven attachment arrived last night, havent opened it yet but its quite a heavy box, must be built like a tank.
the idea/intent is to funnel the fire from the fire pot directly into the oven, create airflow that gets the stone above 800° when the grill is only able to achieve a lower temp. My first trial clearly shows this effect. I've done many pizzas w/ a stone w/ the grill running 600° w/o issue, and one could argue that just using the top dome will produce better results that a stone alone. I think you'll loose the convection flow though. I saw stand-alone domes that were in the $300 range, so the CMG path seems cost effective.Looking forward to more input on this one, thanks. I’m slow in the brain, overall you feel this thing fits a smokefire well?
