Doing my first shoulder and am loving the grill! Any idea how much pellets it takes for a shoulder? Just roughly. Say a 10 hour smoke

Never measured but I’m guessing 1 lb to 1.5 lbs per hour for lower temp smoking. The higher the temp the more it burns and weather will impact it too.

OK. Thank you so much. Just wanted to make sure I didn’t run out!

I think the sticker on the hopper lid has a burn rate.

Pretty sure its something like this.
  • Average consumption rate @ 250°F: ~1.25-1.5 lb per hour
  • Average consumption rate @ 600°F: ~4-4.5 lb per hour

Mine has been burning at least what @Goneincognito posted for the 250. But most of my cooks have been in cooler weather. I also tend to finish things in the oven to save on pellets. Once I wrap them, I put them in the oven on a grid in a pan. (One time I didn't, and it made a HUGE mess. Fortunately, my lovely wife cleaned it up.)
