a few days I discovered something weird and I am not sure if the probe tend to pick up temp higher, I put the probe inside the cooking barrel to heat it up to clean it and noticed that the probe temperature was completely different from what showed on the digital indicator for the temperature inside the cooking barrel ( the probe was hanging in the air not touching the grill ).

Temperature readings show 395 while the probe is reading 587 and this just continued on til they were 480 ( box ) 610 ( probe )

I have been having issues with my unit struggling to go past 470 F since a few weeks ago so I have contacted Weber support and read a similar post in this forum in which someone mentioned his issue was the pallet quality. I actually changed the pallet to lumberjack this time and the same problem persisted so now I am suspecting the possible issue with built-in thermometers.

Followed through with Weber's instructions and they said they will replace the auger but they have been very slow compared to my last experience with them.

Hope the auger replacement fixes the issue otherwise, I will have to ask them about the potential issue with the thermometer

I hung the line over the top grill on the right it the probe is hanging in the air between top and bottom grill on the right

The right side is the hottest side of the grill.
I know the right-side has hot zone but not sure if it's 200 f degrees difference hot, I can try the probe from the left side to see what temp it reads
