Recovery mode question

Did recovery mode and it updated my software but didn’t update firmware on controller still at 4025 instead of 4035 I’m I doing something wrong

Not sure I have the answer, but did you try to turn on the burner immediately after updating? When I powered mine up new, the first update took about 20 minutes and then the app asked if I wanted to turn the grill on, which I did. As soon as I tried to turn it on, the app let me know I needed to install an update. The second update was 4035 and took about two minutes. Then I was up to date ( for now).
