Does anyone else find that the LCD screen on their SmokeFire grill ( I have a new EX4) becomes almost unreadable when the outside temperature exceeds 90 degrees or the sun hits the screen.

We have had an extremely hot summer here in Western New York State — far more high 90 degree days than normal — and while more of a nuisance than anything else, since I control the unit with the App most of the time, I was wondering if this is normal? Unfortunately our grills and the patio are all South facing, and while I can, and do, turn the unit to face away from the sun, I prefer to be able to see the controls when in operation.

Yes my EX4 screen is very hard to read when in direct sun. I thought it seemed worse lately but thought maybe was my imagination. It’s been upper 80s low 90s and humid here.

It is a known issue with all LCD screens, but it is a bit annoying to say the least. I am working on developing an installable shade to minimize the problem.

Today it was 92 at 11:00 am, but the thundeer storms dropped the air temp to 69 degrees, and I could watch the improvement in the LCD “ readability” over a short period of time..
