Smoking during a Canadian winter

Not Canadian but midwestern US. No blanket for me. I’m sure the burn rate is slightly higher but I haven't noted it.

I used a welders blanket from Amazon and it worked real well during the Michigan winter. I held it down with a few high strength magnets.

I assume you are a scotch whisky lover, based upon your username?

Absolutely! Famous Grouse for blended, Tomatin for single malt, doesn't help when trying to smoke a christmas turkey in Ontario however it makes the experience a little more enjoyable!!

I have a problem with whiskey. 😁

I live near Buffalo, NY in upstate NY and ran my ex4 frequently during the Winter when temps were near or below zero. No issue other than heat-up time to stabilized smoking temp and pellet consumption.

My unit resides outside year around with only the Weber cover on it and after almost 15 months it continues to perform “ as advertised and expected”. However I use it almost entirely for smoking and cooking below 350 F.

my challenge is digging it out of the snow to gain access🤪😁

I don't see a problem. You are just well stocked. Seems like you learned your lesson from the lockdowns.

My problem multiplied several times over during the lockdown period. I chalk it up to boredom. 😁
