How do you check what software you’re running. Also blew my second cotter pin in six months. Weber sent a new auger with a screw and bolt. Hope that does better. I’d like to hear from anyone who has that system. Hope it lasts a lot longer. Love my grill but frankly disassembling and assembling every few months is a pain.

What kind of pellets are you using. Pretty aggressive to break two cotter pins. Seems unusual in my experience.

Have you cleaned out or inspected the auger for damage at all in that 6 month period (5-10min job to pull out the auger, clean it and put it back in)?
I would be looking at you choice of pellet (if not Weber / Lumberjack) before anything else.

From what I have seen, the bolt breaks just as easy as the pin.

Using only Weber Grill Master. Not good news If you think the bolt breaks Maybe it was the old auger. The only problem I have is the lower screw on the motor. At 76 I don’t bend very well.

Had the latest software installed on iOS this morning when I went to start up for the corned beef cook. Install went flawlessly and SF worked like a charm throughout the 6 plus hour cook.

Started up the grill and didn't check the app 1st. Already up to 150 and then app has d\l an update. The app wants me to shutdown to install the update. Too late, I'm going finish this pastrami first. Hope it's not an issue, seems to be ok so far. I imagine it will just do it's thing once the cook is done and I shutdown.

Does it do that now?
There was a time it would update mid cook.

Yes, on Android. I already started up the grill. About 15 mins later, I opened the app to check temp and the notification popped up. Its still there waiting for me to shutdown.

Curious. I'm also on Android but all I got was a blinking then solid red dot and then a note on the SF panel that SW update was complete. Oh well. I'm up to date now and my cook afterwards went fine.

I got a email from Weber promoting the new features of the update. I was doing a cook had no problems, did the update after I was finished. The app became quirky afterword, so I uninstalled the app and did a new download, all is good now.

Put a brisket on my EX4 last night, updated to the new software first to 1.6_2506 took about 25 minutes and been on Smokeboost for just over 6 hours so far with no problems, turned up to 225F now

Did a pork shoulder a fortnight ago with same sort of timings and heat and had a pellet void after
6.5 hours hence getting up after 6 hours to check today, nowhere near this time, so hopefully this new software has slowed the pellet consumption down a bit?

Edit - Noticed through the day, it seems to recover temperature a lot quicker if you have to open lid for spritzing, temp taking as well
