Did a little test today while smoking a CB brisket.

Set the cook temp to 250 degrees. Used prob 4 to monitor temperatures inside the grill. Also used a oven thermometer inside the grill.

With grill set to 250,, both test thermometers read 280. Had to lower to 225-230 to maintain 250 internal cook Temps.

May need to replace SMF probe or cook temperature setting?

Were the other probes in the same spot as the built in probe or somewhere else?
You also need to remember that the built in probe is a PID and the others aren't. This can result in a difference in the readings.
The longer you leave it the more the temp will settle out also.

Not sure what a PD probe is. Probe 4 was near the built in probe, the oven probe was on the grill near the brisket, upper rack..

A PID is the temp controller on the SF. The temp displayed on the screen (I'm talking about the main temp) is more of an average so it can display differently to other probes you have in there.
