When the news of a new Weber Pellet grill surfaced I was very excited and held off from the Traeger which I had mixed feelings about. When I saw the release videos I was very excited with the innovations and the commitment of Weber. Over the past several months my excitement has waned. I tried to be positive and after all, many are doing well with it like Harry Soo. But the issues continue, and Weber has responded. But I had to ask myself if I wanted to spend my very very limited income ( I am disabled) on a machine with kluges being needed to keep the thing running. I wanted something RELIABLE that I could put on a brisket and let it run without babysitting the hopper of all things. I am in another smoking group on Facebook and I was counseled to give an honest look at Rec Tec, which I did. While Weber compromised on materials, this one did not. the Warranty is 6 YEARS and it has a very thorough line cf accessories including a cold smoke box. Though it doesn't get to 600 (The Weber seems to only occasionally), it gets close enough. Though I am not sure I want to spend expensive pellets on a sear. And it's the same price as the Weber. So that's my thinking now. Weber has worn me out.

Good honest review Sir. I hope you will stick around here though!

Good choice--it's not worth the money. Other than its sexy look compared to all others, it really is a POS (and I like Webwer). I've had mine for a couple months and it's spotty reliable at best. I know others with different store bought brands with no issues. Again, good choice.

My smoke fire is a POS also it is getting replaced with a new one on Monday for free .i was thinking of canceling and see if I can get a refund . To replace it I saw the Cuisinart woodwind 4 in 1 at Walmart looks very sturdy and a heavy lid. You can smoke your steak and then sear it with real charcoal very cool looking . Check out the video and let me know what you think. It’s only 500$

Hi Lee. Welcome to the forum. Sorry your having issues (just like all of us) with your Weber SmokeFire. I must warn you though, Stay away from that Cuisine Art. And NO, it is not because it is manufactured for Walmart. They have some amazing products manufactured for them. It is because the build quality of it is not anywhere near that of your current Weber or even a Pit Boss. Great features but the build quality is just not there (but I bet it is more reliable and "starts up" until it wears out as our current Smokefires unfortunately.)

I'm worn out with my Smokefire as well. It's been such a disappointment and I'm working on the return through Lowes right now. I should know by tomorrow if it's a 100% refund or a store credit. I have a REC TEC 700 on the way and it should be here next week!
