Glad to see a bunch of you guys making the plunge.
It’s nice to see people gaining enough confidence in what they have seen others do on the SmokeFire to purchase their own.
Looking forward to seeing some of your cooks!

I came close to getting an SF back in March when I was in the store buying my Masterbuilt 1050. BUT, I had read way too many horror stories about the Smokefire and I'm glad I waited till 2 weeks ago. I just had a flameout, but it was my fault as I hadn't vacuumed out the ash after my 4th cook, thinking I could sneak one more cook before cleaning. Nope. But I'm back on target smoking/grilling some wings for the wife

So happy to have finally made a decision. Was originally going big green egg, then discovered Kamado joe, then wanted to wait for the big joe 3, and while I waited Weber debuted the smoke fire. I have two young kids and was beginning to think a kamado would be a little too time consuming. Was happy there was finally a “set it and forget it” pellet smoker that could actual sear! This is exactly what I wanted. I almost bought at launch but then they stumbled out of the gate. Almost bought a master built bc of similar promises but wanted to hang on to see if Weber was able to right the ship. I follow a couple you tubers that were successfully using the smoke fire and it seemed like based on forum feedback they turned the corner. A little late but happy to join the party and looking forward to elevating my game from the gas grill 101 school of backyard burgers, chicken breast and hotdogs.

Completely agree with ftank47. Have a 12 year old Genesis and a 20+ year old kettle. Take care of them and they take care of you. That said, SmokeFire is much more complicated so not surprised that it will require more care and feeding. But I trust the Weber brand and have been impressed with reports of their great support and customer service as folks work through living with a SmokeFire.

Two weeks ago I bought the SmokeFire EX4. I was totally thrilled. Soon after delivery, I had to determine that the controller was not working. I received a new one through the weber support. Hooray, happy!

However, not ...

Sometimes the glow plug worked, sometimes it didn't. In the meantime my dealer has come to pick it up. Through my dealer he has now reached the weber repair service ... I know that I bought the 1st generation, and that this was a risk. But still ... I didn't expect it to be completely useless. Now Weber has notified me that they will upgrade it to the 2nd generation.

To conclude, I can say that the device was not reliable in the first generation. Fortunately, I am getting the upgrade.

I look forward to actually use the Smokefire.

interesting to see some people struggle with the SF🔥, I’ve had mine from day one and once the updates came through and the welded auger it’s been perfect.
