I was cleaning out my Smokefire EX4 today before making ribs, and when I took out the ash catch drawer, a strip of insulation, about 1/2" wide and about ash door width length fell out. Does anyone know where this goes? Has this happened to anyone else?

I contacted Weber via the chatbot, but am waiting until they email me looking for more detail. I took pictures of the part and have kept it in case they can guide me in reinstalling it.

Mine did too, about a year ago. I’m not sure where it came from either? 😁🤷🏼‍♂️😁

It's the seal between the ash draw and the cook chamber.
Weber will replace it under warranty.

Where does it actually go? Is it between the cook box and the assembly that holds the ash drawer? Or is it between the front skirt and the ash drawer? They are sending me a new front skirt, but I am not convinced this is where the insulation goes.

Cook chamber/cook box.... Same thing.

Ok, took the box that holds the ash catch pan off the grill, I now see where the insulation goes.

Do you happen to have a part number for replacement insulation?
Sorry, I don't.
I have never needed to replace mine.
