Introduction

Hello, I was asked to post an introduction about myself. I am an old woman of 66 yrs, mom to 5, grandmom to 14, great grandmom to 8 and counting. Born and raised in central Fla. but lived in NC mountains for my entire adult life and now back to central Fla. caretaking my dad who is 93. Just got my very first smoker. After much youtube research I settled on the Weber Searwood XL 600. Basically pretty much a newbie to the whole grilling and smoking thing, open to learning from wiser and more experienced folks. Happy to have found this forum.

Congrats on the new Searwood and welcome to the forum @dddenmark! How did the first smoke go?

I have not smoked anything yet. I did the initial burn yesterday so will be smoking something soon, still don't know exactly what to start with. I am a little afraid of really screwing up the meat, lol. But it's okay, I will get over it soon enough.
