I am new to the SF, a little over a month now. Today I had a pellet clog and the temp dropped. I searched and could not find a way to have the SM notify me when the temp drops around 100 degrees. I believe my only solution is to use my Maverick heat probe and set it up for the SF. Seems like a viable solution but I wish Weber would add that feature to the app with the ability to turn it on or off. Has anyone found a better solution? I did search the forum for a solution and this is the first time it has happened to me. I probably have close to 15 cooks on the SF now.

Todays cook is pork chops and a mystery meat, my own stupidity for not labeling the baggie, which turned out to be decent size pieces of a beef brisket.

Overall I am happy with the SF but I continue to use my WSM and Kettle. Kind of nice to have 3 grills and a griddle on my Patio setup.

I'm not sure about the notifications but lets address the temp drop issue..

When you say "clog" I'm assuming you mean a void in the hopper and it stopped feeding?

Do you have the finger guard removed?
What pellets were you using?

Removing the finger guard (if you haven't already) can help reduce voids.
Some brands of pellets are larger and longer than others and this can create issues also.

TY, I went out to spritz my meat and I saw the grill had dropped fromm250 to 175 degrees. I opened the hopper and there appeared to be a funnel shaped hole going down into the bottom of the hopper. I assumed the pellets were clogged up. I agitated the pellets with my hand and there was no problem with the rest of the cook. So I started to look for some type of programmable low temp alert. Finding no reference to one I decided to look here.

I was using Pit Boss pellets from BJ's club. I do not think I will purchase them again. I have had no problems with Weber or Green Mountain pellets.

I will investigate the finger guard you referenced. The grill is new and I took advantage of free assembly and free delivery from ACR hardware stores. I did double check the assembly and fixed two problems I know I have the latest hardware and running the latest software.

I am 72 years old and not into fire management as much as when I was younger so I purchased a decent pellet grill. At the current price point the Weber EX6 is a decent choice among the other grills out there. I have had Weber's since the 1980's and have always been able to find replacement parts. So far the EX6 has been great. Last night was pork chops and brisket trimmings for dinner.
