Good morning, fans of smoky food

In the spring of 2021, I bought my first-ever pellet grill, a SmokeFire EX4. I have enjoyed grilling on it ever since and had multiple issues with it that Weber customer service was kind enough to resolve for me at no cost. I feel as though the grill has run its course. Some of the seals underneath are coming off, and it is leaking grease onto my porch. It still works, but it's time for an upgrade now that the Searwood has been released. What I need is pictures of the inside of the Searwood. Can somebody send me a picture of the inside of the grill with the grates removed? Then another picture without the flavorizer bars? Where do the pellets get dropped, where are they ignited? Still in the middle on the back or is the fire box off on the side by the hopper? Why is there a tray at the bottom that slides out? is that where the ash collects? I tried to go to my neighborhood Ace Hardware to see one and take it apart but they had none in stock. I need to see how the thing is engineered before I pull the trigger.

One last question for Searwood owners: can I use the same probes as on my EX4? I cannot seem to find a picture of the control module on the Searwood, showing the 4 ports.

Beat I could do today, watch Webers video on YouTube about cleaning it. It will show you everything you need.
No the probes are not the same. I’m not thrilled about that move.
Overall though it seems like the Searwood is a big hit.
I know when my SmokeFire goes down I’ll grab one.

Thanks, Bruno!! I found a YouTube video of how the interior needs to be cleaned and got all my answers... There are no front to back flavorizer bars, there is only one large flavorizer bar that runs side to side, which means that my whole drip pan system I'm using now on my smokefire won't even work! It means that all the grease will drip into the grill and I'll have to clean it every time... dang you, weber!!

This is true. However the grease management looks like it’s way better than the SmokeFire.

For me I like to cook on the top grate, I would have liked to see a much bigger grate up there.

Here are some pics after an overnight cook of 3 pork shoulders. I thought the grease management system worked extremely well, lot better than my EX6 IMHO. Pics were taken during the shutdown process right after we took the meet off. This was on the smaller unit.

Oh WOWWWW!!!! I can’t believe all that grease! I still prefer a grease pan with a paper foil liner. So easy to pick up. I may have to fashion some kind of holder made out of wire. I tried to order my new Searwood on Ace Hardware and they’re out of stock… I need to get it when it’s back in stock.

It looks like a lot, but really fairly simple to clean up.
