OK - so here's a ponder. I went out today to warm up SF for a cook. Set the temp to 225. SF started up - went to 225 and held for about 10 minutes. This was confirmed on both the SF panel and the app.
I'm thinking - cool. Warmed up and ready to go. About 10 minutes later the temp shot up to 340 and held there for about 10 minutes then started back down. I did NOT open lid. It's now at 225 and holding rock steady. It's been 20 minutes now and still solid 225. I moved the temp up to 350.
SF responded quickly and it's held 350 for the last 45 mins.
Does SF need a startup period of time to get to temp and stabilize? This is twice this has happened. I'm thinking maybe I'll just 'bake in' a 30-minute startup time going forward. For me, predictability of the SF has become the most important factor.
Any thoughts?
