nah.
it totally shut down. and, at the end of it the message was reading that that shutdown was complete and it was "SAFE TO LEAVE THE BBQ PLUGGED IN AND TURNED ON. it then sparked up again and went like crazy. reading that it was in shut down mode again.
the fire was like a blacksmith's burn pit.
the initial shut down took 15 minutes. it went as all previous shutdowns have done. but with that message at the end, it usually reads that is safe to turn BBQ off. and i do. but, this time instead of being shutdown it restarted and went full noise claiming to be in shut down mode again after it totally completed a shutdown.
lucky i was there. it just kept feeding the pellets and the fan was running like full speed. i watched and waited about 10 minutes and decided that this is not right and turned the 6 off and unplugged it. i will give it a run again tomorrow. but i am not looking forward to it going through the shut down mode because i turned it off before it caused some major damage.
i will spark it up tomorrow. i know it will go into shutdown mode on start up because i killed it before it killed me. i am hoping that it was jus a one off glitch and it does it's thing as it should. but, sadly i feel it has shat itself in the tech side of things. and, yes i have done the latest software update.
never had this problem before in the 15 months of ownership. and i don't have the time, patience or skills to do the fix up.
i have already replaced the burn pot, pellet feeder, and deflector due to metal fatigue, as a lot of other owners have.
i might see if they will refund my purchase. because this thing is not the safe, quality unit i thought is was on purchase. and go back to charcoal.
i really wanted this to convince me that pellet grills are the way to go. but no, it is just a money grab from an institution that jumped on the band waggon too late, filled with the FOMO mind set.
anyhow .......... i will fire it up and see what fun it offers up.
later people.
