Hey everyone. Love this grill I gotta say. Straight to the point.
So I started buying Cabela's Pellets because $10 cheaper and I get free shipping. All is good until I tried a new bag of Apple Pellets. Been using Cabela's Pellets for a few months now with no issues.

Yesterday tried to start grill to make pizza, I got a E6 error, first time I got any type error. I checked the glow plug which was only used for about a year. Not sure how long they last but swapped in a new one.

The grill finally lite but was super slow to get up to temp and holy hell the amount the smoke for 3-4 minutes was crazy. It did finally lite and got up to temp.

Question, anyone else had this issue, wondering if it's a crappy bag of pellets or if it's just the Cabela's brand of pellets.

I do clean my grill every month. I notice the Cabela's Pellets create more dust.

Cabela's, Weber and Lumberjack pellets are all the same thing, just rebranded.
I would say you just got a bad bag which can happen regardless of the brand.

That's what made me buy them, same mnf just cheaper. Hopefully just a bad bag like you said. Thanks for the reply.

Any consensus on how long the glow plugs usually last hours wise?

Don't know about hours as it only runs at start-up but I have used mine 4-5 times a week for the past 2 years and still on the origional plug.

Could you tell if the pellets were damp at all? I ran into a bag of pellets I bought from Lowes on sale (before they discontinued them) and they seemed hard to get going. Comparing them to pellets from another new bag they seemed a bit damp. Not to the point of falling apart but they crumbled a bit easier than the completely dry ones. Just a thought.

I would suspect you have a pile up of pellet dust in your system. Can like purge it with a few start up and shut downs or drain the pellets a vacuum and or remove the auger to clean. Best guess.

You know, when it finally lit I heard a poof like sound. Should've said that in the beginning.

I'm going to take a look tomorrow, I never clean inside the pellet shoot but I do clean regularly.
I'll check the pellets for moisture as well.

Removing the auger is very simple to do.
6 screws, 1 plug and less than 5min of your time.

I like the Cabella's pellets. No issues so far. I just purchased a 40 lb bag of Kirkland pellets for $20 with free delivery so I could try them out. I am headed to Lowes this morning and I always check to see if Lowes has pellets on sale. This time of the year they usually do,
