Hello everyone,
I'm new here, and really excited to get going w/ my EX6. I really respect Weber, and have a Genesis that has been rock solid. But I have wanted to get more into smoking - Doing it on my Genesis turned out some awesome ribs, but the baby-sitting is loooong.
So, after some research, and seeing that Weber made the Smokefire, and are trying to do everything right by it, I decided to pull the trigger this weekend.
Software updates were done, and on burn-in was able to easily get the 600 degrees to complete it. I still have a few mods to perform (removing finger guard, namely).
I do have a question. I did some kabobs as first cook, and definitely noticed a vast difference in temps on the Left/Right side, the Right being much hotter. I've seen in the threads that if you cheat the deflector as far to the right as you can, it helps alleviate this. As it is, you can definitely see a shot of flame out the right side, and very little to the left. Is Weber addressing this? Seems to be the only issue I can see right now.
Looking forward to grilling/smoking/baking on this thing.
Thanks!
