Maybe a stupid question... but what is the plastic scraping tool that comes with the Smokefire supposed to be used for? It doesn't look like it could be used to clean the grates.

Maybe just to stir the pellets?

It is to scrape down the barrel of the cooker and push all the funk down the grease drainage area.

I bought an assorted pack of plastic putty knives that work great for cleaning mine out. I wanted one with a much broader head to reduce the number of passes I had to make. I found some at least 5" wide and those have become my goto scraper for the barrel walls and floor!

That’s a great idea, I 3D printed a scraper a while back I used on my Weber Genesis. Going to print a wider one for the SmokeFire to scrape the sides then use the included one to scrape into the collection grease tray.
