EX6
What's up everyone! Kinda funny I waited so dang long to jump on forum! I've owned the EX6 since they first came out! I was definitely the first in Alaska to have one and YES I have rebuilt this thing at least three times! lol, I just found out the ground issue on the glo plug and no wonder! Jamming that thing in the feed most likely messes with that ground every time. I can't wait to go buy a clamp and fix that one. I have used the SF for everthing and when it works I'm blown away at how awesome it is. I purchased the front and side tables and makes it massive but nice to use. I also bought cast iron grates that were made for the spirit and they fit right in! Cooked the best Turkey ever on this EX6 many times and love smoking a rib roast for an hour and then cutting into steaks for a sear. I want to mention that this EX6 has gone through the pit falls but performed very well in -20 degree weather ice storms on Kenai AK. The display would react slow but it still go the job done. Love the casters on it also as my Summit series plastic casters break all the time during moving. I appreciate all the great threads and look forward to being apart of them. As of now I am really interested if anyone has found a way to get the hopper ramp to work right? You know so the pellets slide in without my hand? Also, if anyone can help me remove this shut down cycle that would be great.

Welcome! I’m not aware of way to remove the shutdown cycle since I think it’s there to reverse the pellets and burn up the remaining in the fire pot. I’ve used mine in some single digit temps but never in the negatives. Guessing uses more pellets at -20 that’s damn cold.
