For those that have been on the fence whether to purchase a SmokeFire grill or not, now might be the time. Weber currently has a $200 price drop on both models. The SmokeFire EX4 is $799, the SmokeFire EX6 is $999.

Does anyone know if this is a holiday price sale or a permanent price drop?

I gotta say, they are a pretty good deal at their original MSRP now that the bugs are pretty much ironed out. They are a steal at 200 off IMO. It’s just a shame that someone made the decision to bring the product to market a few months too soon. I had frustrations, but have other cookers and wasn’t solely reliant on the SF. Those who were stuck must have been really butt hurt and rightfully so. I absolutely love the thing now that it’s working properly. Love!

I didn’t take a chance on timeline and just popped on an EX4. Now waiting notification of receipt, 3-7 days?
Surprisingly, Lowe’s honored my Veteran’s discount on top of the 20% so 30% off!

Agreed!

I’m sure it’s designed to be temporary. Once it’s reintroduced to the consumer and word gets out it works as designed, they will fly out of the stores IMO.

Obviously there is a reason they reduced the price $200 with a three star rating...first thing I would suggest for those interested in purchasing do a test run at customer service just in case you might have an issue...I just gave up after holding an hour listening to the recording that “we value your time” being an owner of a SF and having repeated issues...and countless ruined cooks I suggest caution...

Ok hold times 1 hour +which might be a sign they can not accommodate existing customers/issues + 3 star rating from existing owners of Weber SF may be an indication that it does not “work as designed” sorry I do not share your optimism

The vast majority of poor reviews are dated. Mine works flawlessly since the updates a few weeks ago. I know of several others personally that have the same experience. Quite sorry that your experience is still poor, but I just don’t see that continuing. There is absolutely no debate around the fact that they should not have released it prior to these issues being ironed out. That said, the word is out that the pain is largely behind them and if they continue to improve the App experience and the work in the accessories, it’s a big winner of a product. I would suggest you request a refund. They will grant it.

Having owned both a Traeger and a MAK not sure I need to keep waiting for Weber’s fixes (assuming you could talk to a representative in less than an hour waiting) for their fixes...challenge you to call representatives at MAK and see how long you are put on hold...will see how receptive Weber is in giving refund... if and when I can talk to a representative...again thanks for your response however, I may not be one you can convert to a SF champion...

Yeah, I’m not trying to convince anyone. Just sharing my personal experience. I’ve used all levels of Traeger, Memphis and a couple others. I have appreciation for all of them in certain respects. I also have fiddled with MAK and they are a great unit as well. I really like the smokefire. That said, while I had some challenges, they don’t appear to be anywhere near the stress you’ve had. I‘m confident they will refund your grill. I know it’s not a help to you personally, but remember that this COVID thing hi right when the grill went out. These customer support people are trying to work the hotlines from home. In fact, Illinois shut down Weber for a month or so. Real bad timing on top of a really ill advised launch. Good luck!
